My name is "Rusty" and I live in a log home on a small tract of wooded land in Sophia, NC. between High Point and Asheboro near Randleman. I was born in High Point. I have lived here in this house sense 1990 . The area I live in is on a privet road out in the rural farm land of the county. No trains, sirens, traffic, city noise, its dark at night and the sounds of nature is all you hear.
Form about the age of 7 through 16 I lived in an orphanage in Oxford, NC. I have a brother in Jacksonville, Fl. He and my only child, a daughter who is 40 now lives in Missouri. We seldom see each other but are frequently in contact. My daughter and brother are about all the close family I have.
I joined the Navy while living in Jax on my 17th birthday in Jan. 1965. I served 4 years as a US. Navy diver (UDT 21) and electricians mate and was honorably discharged in Feb of 1969. Served most of my service time in Puerto Rico and Guantanamo Bay Cuba and the last few months in Little Creek ,VA. I am known by friends and family to be honest, usually a little quite and easy going and have a "off the cuff" sense of humor. As far as recreational drugs, I don't do them, never have. Although in my younger days I did smoke a little from time to time. I have nothing against catching a buzz although I no longer do that. As for alcohol, a occasional beer or a mixed drink at home or on a dinner outing or a social drink with friends, or not, I can take or LEAVE it.
Among my past time hobbies, hunting and fishing, Fire arms and loading ammunition for them and bench rest and target shooting, wood working, sailing and camping. And you might know I love the beach and the NC. mountains. I like flea markets, museums, Zoos, festivals and some adventure. I don’t mind going to a night club from time to time and can dance well enough to get by. I am retired and not in debt and live a comfortable life style. While in the orphanage I learned the trade of electric motor rewinding and repair and machine work. I have made my living all my life in the business. I owned a small business in my trade for 24 years in High Point, NC. and was previously employed by General Electric In Jacksonville, Fl. as a electric motor and generator and turbine engineer for 3 years.

My Ideal Person: I would like to meet a woman to share my life with. A little fun in-between here and there is OK but I'm really a little more serious minded about companionship, when/if that happens. I am not used to having kids at home or grand children visiting every weekend. But I do realize there are those that have children that I hope are grown and those that like to have their grand children around from time to time.. That’s fine and I understand and will accommodate and respect your relationship with your family. I don't have any grand children.
As far as what I look for in a woman... I like a woman to be pretty, at least in my eye and one that cares about her appearance, not over weight. That don't mean a pretty full figured woman still within her BMI. I don't care how tall you are and I'm flexible with age but not looking for another kid to rise or someone to support. I size up the whole person and see the beauty inside as well.
I am flexible with your hobbies and activities. I prefer a "lady like" with a little “Calamity Jane” mixed in .
